Hidden Valley Girringun Member Group Forum Statement

In memory of the Elders who founded the Girringun Elders and Reference Group at 5 Mile Creek in 1994, and the cultural principles that underpinned their instructions to establish an organisation to unify their Aboriginal people as a movement for positive and beneficial change together for all.

The members of Girringun and delegated member group representatives attending this forum, held from 23 to 26 August 2018 on Gugu Badhun country at Hidden Valley, are agreed that:

• There is an understanding that there are various issues which must be addressed between Girringun and the diverse representative organisations of its nine Traditional Owner member groups

• There is a committed responsibility to attempt to address these issues from this forum’s attendees

• There is a need to go forward, be more proactive and continue to be productive, without losing sight of the founding Elders’ vision for Girringun to support and assist its

• member Traditional Owner groups.
